filler techniques

Lip filling is one of the most popular treatments among young practitioners aesthetics.
Students must first learn the theory involved in lip augmentation, including anatomy, proportions and injection techniques. However, many are eager to achieve in the practical phase.

How to prevent bruising from lip filler

• Use the right tools for lip fillers (Except it is safer, using a cannula will always minimize bruising. The reason for this is that you will only have one bilateral injection points in the oral commissary. Conversely, you have many injection sites in it the entire lip when using a needle).

• Your needle should be the right size of 30 g, ideally.

Injection techniques that minimize lip filler bruising

• A subtle needle approach with a slow and controlled entry can minimize trauma.

• Plan your injections and refrain from over-adjusting the needle position (by positioning or repositioning) once you are inside the lip body (layer 2).

• Ensure smooth transitions between ventilations, if you are using a ventilation technique. Turn your needle back to the point of entry before flying in a new direction.

• Flying can also help minimize injections.

• Pulling back slowly from the edge minimizes trauma.

• Linear retrograde or bolusing sutures within the lip body are less traumatic than sutures constant vertical (tenting). Therefore, this can help prevent or minimize bruises.

Follow good lip filler post-treatment protocols

• Ice can be applied after treatment to help with any bruising, ensuring that there is sterility.

• If the patient has any concerns after the lip filling procedure, advise him to take paracetamol for pain management. This is recommended instead of any anticoagulant or antiplatelet, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, except when already described.

• Remind the patient to refrain from drinking alcohol before and after the procedure as it is vasodilator. This means that it can thin the blood, which contributes a lot to bruising.
